‘You are allowing strangers into your home to spray chemical treatments, you want to make sure they know what they are doing’
Technician Qualifications
In Queensland technicians are required to be certified, licenced and have insurance. Many technicians will need to have a police check too. As the customer you may ask to see these before they enter your home or workplace. If they don’t want to show you these or don’t have them you have the right to decline entry.
Technician Knowledge
A experienced technician should be able to help you with all residential and commercial pests. When booking a service ask how long the company has been in practice and how much experience the technician attending has. A company may have been around for nearly 30 years, but your technician may only have 6 months experience.
How is the service and reputation?
One of the most reliable ways of determining a company’s reputation from the comfort of your device, is to do your own research on the internet and social media platforms and in particular the social giants, Google and Facebook. Most Pest control companies will have a Facebook page where they will have a review section. In general, the more positive reviews and feedback, the better. Though if they have 100s of reviews and they are only positive – that’s something to have a bit of a closer look at.
Price
The cheapest service is not necessarily the best service. As consumers we buy high quality products at premium prices. If we pay cheap prices, we often expect cheap products. Services like Pest Control, Electrician and Hairdressers are no different. Look
Safety
Every chemical we use has an exclusion period expressed on the label. You should ask what the exclusion period is for the products they use, and if they don’t say you will need to vacate the area for a short period they don’t have your safety in mind.
