Meet our team
Ashleigh & Rob are currently a team of two with Rob on the road most days and Ashleigh working in the office. They both bring a unique skillset to the team that enables them to better focus on their clients needs. Ashleigh and Rob have a little toddler that keeps them busy and she enjoys being part of the team.
Robert Short
Owner / Technician
Rob was born and raised on Gubbi Gubbi Country in South East Queensland. He has been doing Termite and Pest Management for over 23 years. Rob originally learnt Pest Control from his mum and dad – Phillip and Julie Short. They were the original owners of Shorty’s Pre-Treat & Pest Control who serviced the Sunshine Coast for over 30 years. Rob took the foundation that his parents gave him and continued to learn and develop and is now a Termite Specialist. Rob has extensive experience in all aspects of Domestic and Commercial Pest Management. Rob has a passion for ongoing professional development and stays current on industry changes and developments. Rob is so passionate that he has a Cert IV in Training and Assessment and also teaches and supports other Pest Management Companies and individuals.
Ashleigh Short
Owner
Ashleigh is a Torres Strait Islander woman who was born and raised on Larrakia Country in Darwin and moved to Gubbi Gubbi Country in South East Queensland when she was ten. Ashleigh went to the University of the Sunshine Coast, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Business. Since then Ashleigh has worked in the Federal, State and University sectors across a broad range of Administration and Human Resource roles. A lot of Ashleigh’s career has focused on supporting and growing the careers of Indigenous Australians – something that she is very passionate about. Ashleigh is focused on growing our business and runs the day to day operations of Shorty’s Pest Management.
