So you are looking to buy a house. Many companies offer combined building and pest inspections.

We don’t recommend this.

Pest inspectors – just like building inspectors – are experts in their field. At Shorty’s Pest Management, Rob Short is the Owner Technician and all inspections and testing will be conducted by him.

When buying a house it is always recommended that you get an independent pre purchase inspection. You might have a Real Estate or independent seller offer their prepurchase report. You don’t know the extent of that report and that report was done for the seller – not you as the buyer. We work for you, we report to you and we only have your interests at heart.

Beyond the Termite

While termites are a primary for most home buyers, there are other pests can cause damage to a property. Rob will also assess the site for borers, wood decay, moisture problems, drainage issues and any other conditions that might attract pests. He will also advise if any termite management systems are in place. If we do find a problem rest assured that there are fast, safe and effective treatments available.

The Report

We will provide a comprehensive pest inspection report on the day which Rob can go through with you. If you have questions, he has answers. When buying a house it is important to know if there are any pests in the property and the general health of the house – not to mention the risks they pose if they are there. Rob will walk you through using plain English and taking the time to make sure you understand and are comfortable. If an infestation or increased risk is found, Rob will advise on the best method to rectify the issue and the likely costs involved.
