Is this termites?
For many of us our understanding of Termite damage can be quite limited and unless you have significant termite damage, it can be hard to be positive that you’ve even got a problem at all. This often leads us to call the professionals in far too late. While we always recommend that a Termite Inspection should be done at least annually you should keep a eye for signs throughout the year too.
Common signs
- Signs of mud lined tubes on the external walls and brickwork
- Weakness in skirting boards, door frames and window frames
- Paint on door and window trims going wrinkly
- Mud spotting, mud staining on walls or mud patches on the walls and cornice
- Doors that are hard to open and close
- Sounds of Termite activity like clicking
- Scent similar to mildew or mould
While Termite damage is usually found by accident or during a renovation it is important for you to keep an eye out for these signs and also have annual inspections. When you book your next Termite Inspection with Shorty’s Pest Management let us know if you would like Rob to take you through the common things to keep a eye on during the year.
