Termite Inspections, Why are they important?

Termites or White Ants are a homeowner’s worst nightmare. They can cause serious damage to your home and its structure if left unchecked and undetected. Not only do you have to deal with an infestation, you need to put a preventative management system in place and repair the damage. This is the bit you may not have realised – Termites are not usually covered by Insurance.

Your home is one of your most valuable assets, so it pays to be proactive when it comes to termite prevention. An annual inspection will help ensure that any signs of an infestation are caught early on before they have time to cause serious damage. Termites often work quietly, and you would not know they are there. With 100 million years of practice, they are very good at hiding in the walls of your house, under the floor, and in the surrounding areas of your home. Between inspections, you yourself should also be on the lookout for termites in your area.

We have had people say things like – I keep an eye on the house I have not seen any damage, or I have ants and termites are not where ants are. There are so many myths and false information out there – don’t fall victim to it. Just because you cannot see the damage does not mean that you don’t have termites. Termite impact can be quite subtle at first. That is why we current techniques and technology when inspecting. We use thermal imaging, Tramex moisture meter and a bore-a-scope cavity camera if required. We do a though Inspection to Internal areas including accessible parts of the roof void & Subfloor. We also Inspect external areas including patios and verandas and surrounding yards up to 50 meters from the main building. You will be provided a comprehensive written report with our findings and recommendations. You will only be provided with a quote if genuine action needs to be taken. If we don’t think you need any further action, we will be honest and tell you that.
